In our family we have two sets of twins: Paul and Pricilla, Pepin and Perdita; and two sets of triplets: Pelle, Pam, and Pheobe, and Piper, Pedro, and Quitie. Back when no one was married and we only had 21 kids, Paul and Cilla were the family's source of entertainment. They would sit on the piano bench, and Prax and I would interview them on what it's like to be a twin. Paul's dream as a kid was to be interviewed and be on TV. Well, in 2008 he fulfilled his dream. All of the sports broadcasters were crazy over this Freshman Basketball player from Kansas, who was homeschooled through High school, (woot woot!) and breaking the College Freshman records at UCLA (University of California at Los Angeles)!!! And Prici? Well, Pric didn't want to be on TV. Her dream was to be a missionary and a Marine Biologist and tell people over seas about how wonderful and magnificent God is and how he made every fish in the sea. Well, in 2014 she fulfilled her dream. She had her degree as a Marine Biologist as she stepped onto the sand in Townsville, Australia ready to share Gods grace with anyone she met.
But before all this happened...They were sitting on the piano bench in our living room on a chilly night in late March with reporters from the Worldwide Broadcasting Nework. (Prax and I) We would sit on stools beside Paul and Pric with our clipboards and microphones and "headsets" (earbuds) excitedly asking them a long list of questions. (Paul wrote the questions.)
We wanted to give you a little taste of those fun memories that our family shared long ago. Enjoy!
(Yes, we did use a whisk and a spatula for microphones!) :-)
Prax: "This is Praxton and Prudence with the Worldwide Broadcasting Network. We have a new episode of Twin Trivia featuring Paul and Pricilla Wilder. They are with us in the studio right now! Paul, am I correct that you and Pricilla are twins, 30 minutes apart?"
Paul: "Yes, Praxton, Cilla and I have been twins since we were born. We like being twins...for the most part. Sometimes it's hard but, we still like it."
Prax: "Can you expend" (I think he meant expound) "Can you expend more on what it's like being a twin?"
Paul: "Sure. I mean, we don't share a room, so that saves the trick of her putting a frog in my bed without someone noticing it before I actually get in the bed. There was one time where she took my favorite pen and put it under her pillow and didn't tell anyone until I messed up her bed. Then she went and squealed on me to Mom and Dad, telling them it was all my fault. Well, I stormed in and told Mom and Dad the truth. They punished us both by making us make each other's beds for a week. That was the worst punishment of my life. So humiliating for the best star of basketball."
Prax: "I see. Prue?"
Prue: "Pricilla, can you tell us a little bit about how it is being the female gender of this hulabalu?"
Cilla: "Sure. Well, I'm definitely not the "Tomboy Sister" Paul always talks about wanting, but I do play basketball when Mom tells me to. I made his bed everyday for a week, so I think he underestimates how much I really do for him. I help make dinner for the family and, even though I'm a girl, I still like to play outside with him and our siblings. I think I can be a good sister without having to be a tomboy."
Prue: "Nice!"
Prax: "So here's a question for both of you: What is your favorite part about being a twin?"
Paul: "Well, I've really enjoyed being the older twin and even though she's not a boy, she still likes me and plays with me."
Cilla: "I really enjoy being a twin when I am with my friends and I can tell them that the basketball team that is winning, is winning because my twin brother is playing on it."
Prue: "Very interesting. Well, we're out of time for tonight, but thank you Paul and Pricilla for coming in today. Have a great night!"
Paul: "You bet."
Cilla: "Thank you!"
Prax: "This has been the Worldwide Broadcasting Network featuring Paul and Pricilla Wilder. Tune in next time for an other exciting episode tomorrow night at 7:00."
Love this post Prax and Prue! And I have a question for Pricilla ... what do you prefer to be called, Prici, or Cilla? ~Savannah
ReplyDeleteCute post guys! Can't wait to hear more from you! ~Sky
ReplyDeleteHi Savannah!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Australia!
Well, I don't know who made up Prici and Pric, but Cilla is what Dad always used to call me, and so I like that best. Paul calls me Prici, Dennis calls me Cil, Prue calls me Prici, so it's really which ever you prefer! :-)
Blessings,
Pricilla <3
Oh my word Cilla! I just read through some of your family page again and found out that you like marine biology! So cool! Do you have a favorite marine animal? If you haven't heard, I LOVE LOVE LOVE dolphins! :-)~Sky
DeleteHello Skylar!
DeleteWell, I really like dolphins too, but my favorite would probably be the many coral plants that live right next to where I am staying! I live next to the Great Barrier Reef! We can literally walk into the ocean from where I am living!
That's so cool! ~Sky
DeleteThat sounds about as ridiculous as some of the things our family has done! :-)
ReplyDeleteHow are things going, Pricilla? I CANNOT believe you're in Australia!
~Rayal M.
Hi Rayal!
DeleteThings are going...okay. I am really homesick, but I am reminded everyday that this is where and what I am supposed to be doing. I am really learning contentment right now! :-)
How has your family been?
Blessings,
Pricilla
We've been good. Thanks for asking! How often do you visit the states? Hugs,
Delete~Rayal
Well, I've been trying to visit every 5 months, but plane tickets aren't cheap! I would really like to come home every weekend, but...that won't happen..:-( We try to facetime every weekend, but that doesn't always work either. Wi-Fi is pretty scarce in Australia! :-)
DeleteCan't wait to see you all again!
Hugs!!!
Cilla
Happy Valentines day you guys! ~Sky
